Welcome to Teach a Man to Fish...

Peace be with you!

It is in accordance with Pope Benedict XVI's Messages for the last 5 World Communications Days that this information hub "Teach a Man to Fish" has been established!

(For the full transcriptions of each of Pope Benedict XVI's messages, follow the link http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/messages/communications/index_en.htm)

"Teach a Man to Fish" is a blog dedicated completely to enabling Catholics to discover the resources available to them in print form and online that will enrich their faith and the knowledge of their faith. Are you aware of what is "out there"?

More importantly, do you know how to find what you are looking for?

The title of the webpage "Teach a Man to Fish" comes from the old adage: "Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime." Learning about the faith is necessary to having a faith-filled life. "Teach a Man to Fish" is here to help you not only learn about your faith, but teach you skills which will enable you to find more information about the Faith and find more helpful tips on increasing your faith.

We are all fishers for information, but we must be so in order to be fishers of men! Information and knowledge helps us grow, but the ultimate goal is to bring others closer to Jesus Christ, Son of God, and His Holy Catholic Church: to love. May the knowledge you find always lead you closer to Him, and lead others there as well!

I hope you find a valuable resource in "Teach a Man to Fish" and I hope you also learn how to fish for the right information, the best resources, and the most current commentary in the Catholic Church today!

God bless you

"Teach a Man to Fish" is loyal to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
